Lake Wanahoo Detour
Beginning in mid-June, visitors to Lake Wanahoo may need to take a short detour if they want to use the camping/boating entrance on the west side of the recreation area.
A segment of County Road 17 from Highway 77 to the west park entrance will be closed over the summer for paving.
The west entrance will remain open throughout the paving project, but will only be accessible from the north. Visitors coming from Highway 77 will need to go two miles north on Highway 109 (immediately east of the dam), one mile west on County Road O, and then 1 mile south on County Road 17 to reach the west entrance.
The paving project is expected to be completed by Labor Day at the earliest. The day use entrance from Highway 109 on the east side of the recreation area will be unaffected.
