Soil & Water Conservation Program

The Lower Platte North NRD provides cost-share assistance to landowners for establishing a variety of conservation practices on their land.

 

National Water Quality Initiative

The Natural Resources Conservation Service provides financial assistance to landowners in the Wahoo Creek Watershed for establishing a variety of conservation practices on their land.

 

Small Dams Program

The Lower Platte North NRD provides cost-share funds to counties and landowners for building road structures and small dams for flood control, drainage improvement and grade stabilization. The Small Dams program is primarily aimed at landowners, while the Road Dams program is intended to assist counties.

The Lower Platte North NRD provides cost-share funds to counties and landowners for building road structures and small dams for flood control, drainage improvement and grade stabilization. The Small Dams program is primarily aimed at landowners, while the Road Dams program is intended to assist counties.

Priority Watershed

The Lower Platte North NRD provides higher cost-share rates for soil and water conservation work in priority watersheds. The cost-share rate can be up to 90% in these watersheds.

Rock & Jetty Program

The Lower Platte North NRD’s Rock and Jetty Program provides cost-share assistance to landowners for constructing erosion control devices for streambank stabilization. The program also provides funds to assist Dike and Drainage Districts with maintenance of dikes on the Platte River.

Lower Platte Weed Management Area

The Lower Platte Weed Management Area (LPWMA) is a group of public and private agencies and individuals that are concerned with stopping the spread of noxious and invasive plants located in the Lower Platte River drainage area.

Native Nook Pollinator Program

The Lower Platte North NRD is excited to roll out a new small-scale habitat program – Native Nook.
The goals of this program aim to educate on the importance of using native plant species for building
healthy soils; conserving and protecting our ground and surface water; and providing a habitat for
pollinators and other wildlife.
